Saturday, June 26, 2026: 2pm to 5pm on Mill St. Wellesley Stage

It’s been 15 years since the first brOWN//out & We Won’t Stop! As the “south asian”* community stage, brOWN//out celebrates the magnificent multiplicity of our communities, and is a space for singers, dancers, drag and burlesque artists, DJs and more. With a mix of first time and established artists, we’ve been honoured to present artists like Sushmita, Vivek Shraya, Zaiba Baig, ROSINA, D!XON, BOIBND, Optimal Tease, and many more.

*the term “south asian” is used strategically: there is no way to adequately represent all the complexities of having identities connected to “South Asia,” which can include diasporic, Nepali, NRI, Tamil, Indo-Caribbean, brown, Fijian, Maldivian, mixed-race, and more. The inadequateness of the term means that many “south asian” community spaces have perpetuated the harm of exclusion, in particular of Black “south asian” folks, Dalit folks and more. brOWN//out can be, and needs to be: a place for disrupting these exclusions, collectively dreaming and (re)building.
